Co-trainer Mick Price said the veteran of just eight starts showed all his usual determination to get through the wet going and prove his class.
“He was good, wasn’t he?” Price said. “He was gusty because between the 400 and the 150.
He was spinning the wheels a bit and I thought, ‘oh well, he’s off here’.
“He was very gutsy.”
